Year in the Life
of a Farmer
Bring your 4th graders to a
farm market to learn about the life of a typical Wisconsin vegetable farmer.
Through activities and demonstrations your
students will learn about:
the tools of vegetable farmers ...
the year-round work of a farmer
...
how to plan vegetable planting
on a plot of land ...
the effects
weather, insects,
and disease have on crops.
Students will also tour the greenhouse
and/or maple woods. (Depends on weather & season.)

hours

What students will receive: One scoop ice cream cone from
UW-Madison's Babcock Hall
